Shortcomings:

- Netflix works only in SD Quality not HD
- It can not be installed "Android TV Apps" (YouTube for TV)
- Device starts immediately after switching on, and does not stay in standby.

RE: 20150430 (1.0.25) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Problem with SPMC:

If I MKV movies with "1080p 24" (PAL) from the NAS via the Gigabit Network or external hard drive play stuttering the movies in between (micro-stuttering)!

The OHC Player is connected via HDMI on Marantz AVR.
The problem is with TV and video projector. I ask for help.

When is Android 5 (lollipop) for the OHC available?
Is it better to install XBMC or SPMC? What is the advantage of SPMC?

no one knows.

SPMC is the better choice, there are optimizations such as the rklibstage for the RK3288 chip and you get DD5.1 and DTS passthrough.

SPMC isn't supported means, no incarnation of XBMC/SPMC/KODI is supported. you can it install and it runs like other android apps without special optimazions for the chameleon.
The manufacturer doesn't take care about the mediacenter, but the logo looks fine one the packing.

please elaborate or retract about the SPMC not being supported on the Chameleon and tell that to koying the head developer of SPMC.. you'll find him on this forum too.

or do you think that all devices that run kodi or spmc support all functionality? there have always been restrictions based on hardware or the choices of kodi developers.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Sorry, but i don't understand your objections, koying telling us by itself that he can't support the chameleon since he don't get the documents to the underlying chipset:

Rubbish this is just about the DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD that come out as multi channel DTS or Dolby D for which very few have the speaker setup to even hear the difference.
Telling someone SPMC on the device is not supported has a whole different meaning.
SPMC thanks to koying's efforts made a lot of difference as opposed to kodi/XBMC that will only give you a watered down version with 2 channel PCM.

Can't support a device or can't support a specific audio feature is not the same thing...

Don't turn into a troll.

If you spend some time in this forum you will think that without support for DTS-MA the world will come to an end and having to listen to regular DTS is like forcing people to watch a movie with radio AM quality audio.
Enough already. OHC is an amazing Kodi player.

Sorry, but for me, this is bullshit !! I'd preferred to wait without android box rather than having a guarantee expired at the time the software is finally ready and can read a movie in 24p without stuttering. They take my money then told me to go fuck myself... No support answer in 6 month....

Now I want to see Nvidia android TV's reviews (before to buy it... I won't do the same mistake twice). Nvidia promises audio HD passthrough... wait & see

Maybe someone here has tested a nexus player with kodi?? DTS HD ? Micro stuttering ?

RE: 20150430 (1.0.25) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Clean up your language, first of all if you had visited this forum before your purchase you would have known so ranting here is a bit foolish now is it.
Second no android mediaplayer guarantees HD audio in XBMC/Kodi, so nothing to expire.
Third 24p is a monitor setup choice that you need to explain as the screen refresh rate is a lot higher and often multiples of 50Hz so gearing your player to an optimal frame/refresh rate should be easy... and yes 23,976fps is just the NTSC equivalent of 24fps of old school movie frame rates.... details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate
long story short try 50p or 60p.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Yes Yes thank you for your science... i already understood all these things.. thanks to the forum.. this is not against you, but the project itself.. it was to early to have a product (with android) as clean as others of syabas from the beginning.
This is my mistake but i honneslty think that I loose my money and time.. I know believe in an other company with better support and R&D.

I do not understand the world, it can not be that hard to adapt the software for this player ??? Huh So finally everything is working properly ........ SPMC has to work with smooth video playback. Whether with 24Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz. The OHC player has an excellent hardware platform. Please make sure it works! Cool

RE: 20150430 (1.0.25) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
@willem
Can you please stop ranting about how 23,976 is a useless frame rate?
Almost all blu-rays are 23,976 fps and should be played back at same frame rate. Most displays support 23,976 and no, it doesn't normally play it back at multiples of 50 fps.
Just because you do not see or want to know the difference doesn't mean its not an issue.

I think even Moderators get fed up when really its Rockchip and partners advertising what they cant deliver on product delivery. basically they are a pack of android bullshitting chip manufacturers. all as bad as each other.

If your not audiophile etc and just use TVaddons then it works really well.

Y'know, I think, I think that a week from now, you'll be less in the mood for being amusing.
