RE: 20150401 (1.0.23) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
You have to realise that firmwares are totally different to whatever software you choose to use for playback. The software you use may not support HD audio.

You should always use the latest firmware and test it using the native player first. Then as per the video from popa110 where he shows the DTS-HD and TrueHD logo on his amp light up you can see that the firmware is or is not ok.

Whatever your software can or cannot do is not part of this threads topic. SPMC queries on HD audio go in the XBMC section of the forum. Plex questions ask at the Plex forum or start a thread in the Android software or Video section to see if others are using it and whether that software can support HD audio and if it works or not.

Here's a rom packaged by popa110 that does have HD audio uses this firmware version and states it has HD audio using SPMC:

Not a bug you still need to set the MAC to your new SD card.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

But it would have been easier to integrate this in the user interface for the 1_0_23 beta firmware (or the 1_0_25 beta firmware) as I'm sure that the less technically inclined people with this problem won't feel able to follow these instructions. Might have to wait for the weekend though before I can test this.

Yes, in my previous post:
"** This method is only for testing, the value will set to default when the box reboot. If it is working, we will add in advance settings for user to set this."

We are unable to reproduce this with all our TV in office so far, that's why we need someone to help us to at least know that this method is working or else what we added to the advanced settings will still be useless for the green/purple problem. Thanks.

So I've been following the instructions that you gave me and I put my OHC into mode 3 (YCrCb444) and then played a video file. This video file (a MPEG2 transport stream of BBC 1's Formula 1 qualifying) played without color flipping issues on my TV (a Philips 46PFL9704h from 2009), so I was somewhat hopeful. After the video file finished though and the OHC went back to the SPMC 14.2 file selection screen I went and made me some soup for lunch and glancing back at the TV I saw that the screen had gone either azure or turquoise. After a while it recovered from this and I then started to play an mp4 file. This file almost immediately did the color flip, so I tried something else.

I switched to RGB (0-255) mode and watched the same file. No problems with this mode. Then I switched to another show and tried RGB (16-235). Again no color flipping problems. I even watched another show and no color flipping problems there.

My guess is that the YCrCb444 mode is causing the issues for me. I did notice that the show that flipped immediately in that mode was encoded in YUV420, so maybe the conversion from 420 to 444 is causing these issues, where the RGB modes don't have these issues. Or it could be the 444 mode itself as implemented.

RE: 20150401 (1.0.23) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Is anyone else having a problem with accessing SMB locations
with the new firmware
cant seem to access SMB File locations
which is preventing me from HD Audio Testing on files thru the player to see if i have hd audio

Edit

I now have to use the User Name and Password of the PC where the SMB is located
and before I was able to do this via the PC Login Name and Password
Which is different from all my other Devices running Kodi
They are set up for SMB Share under the PC Login Name and work no problem
Is anyone else experiancing this?

Hi. Willem55

As for me, this is big. Mac should be fixed forever. Alternatively, any possibility of change in the interface. Not everyone has a usb cable to connect Sad

It's a standard phone type connector to USB so they are really common. It would be a nice addon, perhaps someone could do one for the unit.

It has a changeable MAC so that all of the firmware can be on the SD card so there's zero chance of bricking the unit. I'd take a need to specify a MAC if required over the removal of any possibility of bricking a unit anyday. Especially as Android has many flavours of custom roms out there. Already bricked a phone, well very nearly managed via ADB to recover eventually but took forever to get the right usb android drivers and the necessary tools to fix it.

I tried today using the Native player of the OHC using file manager to locate the DTSHD MKV File
and Still its just DTS

How many other people can easily play DTS Hd audio files ???

Yes, The RGB(0-255) is darker than the RGB(16-235) but that is to be expected (same thing applies to those modes in the BoxeeBox).

But I already knew this from firmware 1_0_11 where you guys switched to RGB(0-255).

If you guys need logs from runs with YCrCb444 with flipping, for improving the HDMI implementation, let me know. Please do tell me which log files to post and where to find them if this is the case!

As said before, i have the same. But if i play a BD-ISO, i get the DTS-HD so the firmware must be able to do so.
