Did you read the release notes?

When something is listed as a known issue it means that it is on the list to be fixed if you didn't know.

Hi Chris,

I think we are all aware of what it means... But this issue is listed on the known bugs since few firmware releases and it should have been fixed now.

I just answer the question asked i don't speak for others.

If it's taken too long go tell OH and ask them why. Then you are speaking knowing facts rather than simply opinion. However as stated it's known and will be fixed as soon as possible which is what everyone including OH, you, i want.

Actually away from the Chameleon - will check later.

What is the downside of disabling the Frame Rate Sync?

Unless I?m wrong, this feature should allow to play media with frame rates potentially not supported by the TV without flicker - correct?

We found out when frame rate sync try to switch the HDMI output, it could cause HDMI bitstream lost audio sometime. Already feedback this issue to Rockchip.

Have you found the cause of the stutter/loop/disco effect?

I'm going to stop autoframerate in both android and spmc along with the various audio options. Can't test native player as i get no audio on most files as i need downmix.

Updated to .23 and latest SPMC. Most results are good, and generally is still a usable player.

Twice we've lost sound, stop/exit/spmc/play has made sound come back so far. I should look at the '0' on remove fix people have.

Once, after tv had been off for a bit, it would come back at 720p, and could not change it to 1080p/60 in settings. Rebooted and 1080p/60 setting was back.

OHC -> Pioneer AMP -> Sony TV (HDMI and passthrough)

hello

I bought this player for 6 month ago, waiting for HD sound to work i XBMC. Looks like this has been fixed ? I have a question for you guys - i recently was told that the actual quality of the playback, could be better on my trusty old Dune HD smart D1 - can there be any thruth on this ? I mean shouldn't digital playback be the same ?

Thanks Smile

I am no Expert in this, this is what I think however.

Usually your source provides you with an fps, that fps decides how many pictures per second you ll get, that is what your mediaplayer does. There is also your TV however, who gives you a refresh rate. The refresh rate on the tv is important for the smoothness, since it does reconstruct the picture XXX times per second, also a few tricks to make the playback seem smoother.
(Not sure if the mediaplayer itself can calculate new picture in between, theoretical it should be possible.)

Now if your player can t play the fps, he may stutter, that is something you obviously see. As I ve seen rarely, the OHC has microstuttering (since it s rare in my case, I don t really bother). This Issue however will be most likely fixed in the future. After that it makes no difference.

summary, don t worry about that.

You smile - and the world changes.

RE: 20150401 (1.0.23) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Are you talking about picture quality?

If so like the Popcornhour the Dune has a Sigma processor which are well known for producing excellent picture quality. They are better than the Realtek chips for this and i have to say that the picture quality of my Vten is more vivid and sharper than my ohc. But that's not what we bought the ohc for is it? We researched and decided that our need for Kodi etc. was the driver behind the decision.

The Vten has VXP processing along with the Sigma chip to further help with SD picture quality.

It's horses for courses and if picture quality is your number one you don't have to stop at a Sigma chip you can go up to Farouda and higher with others in the many thousands of pounds.

My nirvana that i can afford would be a Sigma chip running linux with openelec.

I have the same on my LC and unfortunatly i'm not able to enable CEC again. the chameleon have killed my CEC and all sources say at now that the TV isn't able to do CEC. All i have done is rebootet the chameleon after firmware update

interesting so there can be a difference.
What I do wonder, the OHC has a lot of unused power. Wouldn t it be possible to enhance said Picture quality with Software?
and I still don t get the + of Linux openelec compared to android spmc.

Anybody who has the AVR compatibility issues, such as no audio, random audio drop off and etc, please capture the kmsg.log and logcat.log.

http://wiki.openhourlab.com/index.php/An..._%28ADB%29

Please zip the log files because they can be very big. PM me the url to download them or email them to me. Thanks.
