thank you

Firmware updates and software that you personally decide to install on your player are tow entirely different things.

It matters not where you download however you can signup at googleapps to SPMC and ask questions to the developer there.

There is also Freaktab for the more advanced users.

As many times discussed before, if you take a look at the package XBMC is part of software, that the producer has to supply. If the maker says that SPMC third party software is i'm awaiting another official KODI from the maker

What package is part of that software, XBMC? I don't think so.. there is a native mediaplayer and a link to where you can download kodi if you want it.. It would have been better if you could have found Kodi on the playstore.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

As stated so many times before compatibility is what is offered. Same as DVD compatibility, you dont expect a DVD do you?

Look at the actual CloudMedia website:-
http://www.cloudmedia.com/products/open-hour/chameleon
It clearly says 'XBMC Media Centre Ready' which means that it is ready for you to install what is as we know SPMC not that it is setup for you or that it is forced upon you by being pre-installed. How could it be setup to go in any case as we all have different settings, hardware, network shares, skins, etc. etc. etc. Which vbersion should be forced upon everyone the launcher version or the non launcher version.

i mean the box. On my box there is the XBMC-logo, so i assume, its already in the box or i can download it - fully working for the device.

If i would *NOW* search for a 4k mediabox i would *NOW* read and found a lot in foren or on the "actual" Website and would stay away from a buy - but in oct. 2014 there wasn't that infos, only the things that was published in glossy brochure stile.

I had nether think that 4k - HEVC - XBMC not working together, and the box says:

XBMC vorinstalliert - (XBMC already installed)

Its like you buy a car and the headlights will only work, if you don't drive and the seller says to the customer: the car can drive, the car can light the street and no one have sayed that it will work together.

As this was your first foray into buying a media player perhaps you didn't do the necessary research, agreed or you would have realised they take time to develop. The CM website page has not changed and was in Oct 2014 as it is now.

I admire your persistence to have to search out the box. If you look at the languages I can read English, Italian etc. it clearly says READY or SUPPORT/SUPPORTED. Nowhere on those languages does it say XBMC is installed. In fact had any research been done XBMC was already gone by this time of the box release. I cannot read the letters in the German translation but take your word it is as you say.

On the German translation is does appear when translated from German to English say installed. You seem to have dropped the logo and not are relying on this to make some kind of point. It is not installed but it is compatible and will install so get over it. I'm not German and have to rely on google etc.

Don't know what a car and headlights have to do with anything your analogy totally lost me.

This has only ever been raised two or three times and each time helpful owners have helped those that need to know that XBMC no longer exists and besides on Android they should be using SPMC in any case. Perhaps this where the car salesman tells you where the light switch is located in your analogy? I'm sure you will have helped at the time as this seems very important to you. Why are you making such a drama out of such a little thing?Huh

Hi, just for info i see on the box, in the french part "Xbmc installé" mean Xbmc installed.

the best translation for "XBMC ready" is "XBMC Compatible"

This error is probably due to the contractor who did the translation

TV : Philips 42PFL8404H 1080p (build in 2009) --- HDMI Cable : OHC inbox ---- Connection : HTPC to TV directly -- Nas Synology by NFS -- OPENHOUR : FW 1.0.11

vorinstalliert
in Germany, according to law applies only to German Translation, and if i have to install a special german version with the offered preinstalled XBMC - so i will do so.

Quote:I'm not German and have to rely on google etc.

the same for me with english, but in germany i have only to watch the german descriptions, all other don't count in german law.

Quote:Don't know what a car and headlights have to do with anything your analogy totally lost me.

looks so, otherwise you could understand why a lot of people really pissed off.

Quote:Why are you making such a drama out of such a little thing?Huh

Because XBMC/KODI is a global mediacentral - you collect all your pictures, movies, TV-shows in this one piece of software and use only these piece of software and never another thing to show pictures and next one software to play movies and so on.

At now you have to use often the internal player for movies, you have to adjust the screen resolution every time because XBMC/KODI/SPMC won't work proper - so the box is very unhandy and failes the sense.

For me its a big drama the box isn't usable at the moment and the $50 Pi2 does all the things better than the chameleon - only on 4k it isn't a solution.
