Guess you also went through the Onkyo setup...
Don't think it's OHC hardware as we both got ours around the same time.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
It's strange and frustrating as hell but the only hardware change i know of was the change to the OTG port connection following initial feedback from those of us whom got very early orders. So i'm not sure what changes or how the serial etc. would help but happy to look mine up if someone can explain what or how it'll help as my unit is behind the tv and somewhat difficult to access.

It's only started in this beta and we know there's been some changes to audio from those not getting any to those of us who now get stutter and gaps rather than the looping. So something's changed it's almost as if it keeps switching between stereo and mono or multi and having to adjust.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
My alluding to the hardware was just a shot in the dark, I agree that it is surly a change in the firmware since .11. It seems to strike at random, users with and without AVR's, some direct to TV users have reported it also so I don't think its the AVR. I even got desperate and switched the runtime to ART but it made no difference after reboot and update. My AVR basically switched to null audio input while on .13, like it is getting nothing, as soon as I go back to pre .13 it switches to PCM or DTS whichever mode I am in, so the firmware is just not sending anything for the AVR to detect. I have gone back to .10 (screen was to dark on some scenes with .11) and will hang out there until the fix is in. Sure do wish it would work as the framerate sync is great, but without audio useless.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I found two problems in this release connected to samba with internal player.
1. Auto framerate does not work playing blu-ray rips (makemkv passthrough) from samba share. The same file from NFS works.
2. All the files I tested to play back from a samba share has blurry picture low on the screen.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I found a problem. I play a HD movie with external Greek subtitles (.srt) in native player and subtitles are shown like Chinese.
i see in settings the .srt file that is selected but I dont see Greek subtitles. so I think its something in Code page for subtitles.
PLease support Greek language characters.
thank you!!!

This is not a firmware problem... you need to go into the system options and you should find the subtitle option in Kodi and select Greek (windows) It will display the font properly.

I think the more important question is, what happened to 1.0.12? Are we could to find its body in the woods one day? Conspiracy?

Audio issues with Pioneer AVR. Back to .10 for me.

I wondered about .12 also, I thought it more likely to skip .13 as that's unlucky, and for me it has been. No audio what ever I try, so I am back to .10 also.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Well, I thought I would try one more experiment, I loaded a brand new card with 1.0.5 (original OS) and added NOTHING at all. Played media from USB stick with internal player
on both default and HDMI bitstream audio. (Big Buck Bunny Demo) Both played just fine, then I updated the OS to 1.0.13 and lost all audio, GUI sounds as well as internal player.
There is nothing on this card except CM firmware with no extras, so they definitely Nuc'ed .13 and need to fix it, don't know why the issue skips around, I still say they (RC)
changed something in the hardware, only thing that makes sense.

RE: 20150213 (1.0.13) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
After the first two days of stuttering audio and gaps last nights viewing, and so far today the stutter has gone, and now I get longer gaps of no audio. Seems to happen infrequently and as my storage is on my LAN and audio is the first sign of a network issue I may try everything from a USB SSD for a couple of days just to rule that out.
All audio downmixed to stereo via SPMC.

Tried the Native Player and as it decodes not a lot its not worth using for those of us that are not using AVR or have TV's that can decode. I did check using the Avatar BDMV and the multisubs and audio tracks and it worked as expected and certainly better than the NMT handles PGS subs.

My NASses and Mediaplayers are on the same GB switch so maybe thats why I never had stutter or gaps in audio.

all my NAS, Hard drives are on two GB switchs , all cat7 cables. I got some micro video stutters, very brief and pretty rare, no problem at all with sound.
