I mean a setting like full screen so a movie doesn't have black bars up and down and fill all the tv screen.
PCH C-200 has this setting and I have it at full screen. so all movies fill all tv screen.

Wow why do you want to do that, then the movies look terrible.

There is a reason you see black bars, so that you can see everything and don't have a stretch screen, so you don't see
very long people or fat people, or miss screen on the left and right side.

If you really don't like it download ONLY 16:9 MKV Movies, or buy a big 21:9 computer screen, or buy a older Phillips 21:9 TV.

Because we do not like black bars!
I also like to see my movies in full screen (crop funtion) and yes then you miss some details on both sides, but the movies does not look terrible in my opinion

MX player has the zoom modes you like.

The native player also has aspect ratio settings with full screen being the best but mx has the crop/stretch one that will ignore even if the black bars are part of a 16:9 image.

Yeah. I don't like black bars either.

Top or bottom.

Scale to 16:9 on spmc

Y'know, I think, I think that a week from now, you'll be less in the mood for being amusing.

Go and support the guy asking for it on the correct SPMC forum. It's not for OH to fix SPMC:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?8...post266877

And its not for discussion in a firmware thread either.

the open hour chameleon was advertised with an 4k able XBMC: "Der Open Hour Chameleon unterstützt auch das bekannte und beliebte XBMC Media Center, welches bereits Inhalte in 4K Auflösung wiedergeben kann"
http://www.popcorn-hour.de/open-hour-cha...sicht.html
and for the buyers doesn't it matter if the advertised "XBMC" is called XBMC, SPMC, KODI or whatever.
If Open Hour tells us, that SPMC is the "official" solution for the advertised "chameleon XBMC" it has to be supported here, fixed here and not in other foren.

Quote:And its not for discussion in a firmware thread either.

thats true, anyway, Open Hour has us to tell, wich XBMC is the official with the claimed features and this has to be supported here. (in another thread ;-))

RE: 20141231 (1.0.10) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I think you are missing the point... if kodi/xbmc or spmc does not support a feature on android then the feature is not available.
The limitation here is not OHC hardware but kodi/xbmc/spmc mediaplayer application.... if you need the feature added go ask there.. as whatever we say here will not impact the kodi/xbmc/spmc developers.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

and until now Kodi/SPMC does not do the promised features, for example:
- 4K Playback doesn't work "usable" to use this as a media player
- DolbyHD ThueHD doesn't work

If Open hour had never mentioned XBMC as a player for 4K Videos, you are right. But they advertised that.
And to say: the box can decode HD audio and if someone ask about to say: but the software can't do that is rubbish

I don't demand Android, they can use Linux or something what they like, the main point is that they get XBMC running like the $20 Raspberry + UHD 4k.

If i were Open Hour i would spend a few bucks and a few develment units to the OpenELEC team to get something usefuel.

(01-05-2015 04:19 AM)K_C_ Wrote:  Serious handshake problem for this firmware also. I have my OHC connected to an Onkyo receiver to a Sony 4K TV. As I said here, I think 1.0.10 is just the same as 1.0.9 for the handshake problems. It becomes even worse when I test more.

I played with the OHC for around 1.x hours after 1.0.10 installed. Then I gave up and went back to my PS3. I have HDMI CEC enabled in all my devices (PS3, Onkyo and Sony TV), so I usually just press the "PS" button on my Dualshock 3 and the PS3 will be powered on. Then the Onkyo and Sony TV will be switched on and will be chosen to the correct inputs automatically. But after I played with OHC for that 1.x hours, this HDMI CEC trick simply doesn't work anymore. At first I was not sure its PS3's problem so I switched back to watch TV and found that ARC is not working too. No sound was sent to the Onkyo from the Sony TV (of course this worked before). To keep this short, I finally unplugged OHC HDMI cable, TV, Onkyo and PS3's power cable for around 30min. Finally I didn't connect OHC's HDMI cable yet and the PS3-Onkyo-TV work as before now. I suspect that the OHC did too much handshaking with Onkyo or the TV so the HDMI protocol got stuck somewhere.

Also I found that I can NEVER get a single BD Menu works by no matter SPMC or KODI.... what's up with 1.0.9 or 1.0.10? As I got the BD menu worked "intermittently" with SPMC and more higher successful rate with KODI beta in 1.0.7 or 1.0.8 before.

I have the exact same problem! With my Sony X8505 and Onkyo 608. I become my OHC yesterday and had this problem. Thanks for mention it.

If i have e fix i will tell you.

Please show us all where OH have stated anything other than the box can use XBMC.
The link from the German site is not a OH site it is a reseller.

I have never seen anything about 4K through XBMC. All 4K has been with the native player.

The only XBMC I have ever seen is a logo and a video playing xbmc to see that it is possible to use it whereas on other less powerful android players it has been claimed despite them not being powerful enough to run it. That's all. What XBMC or its Android fork SPMC offers in terms of feature or not has absolutely nothing to do with OH.

HD audio passthrough does not work. Totally agree that's why its on the list of KNOWN BUGS.

I would welcome openELEC on the box myself. Unless lollipop brings better video/audio playback I don't see Android and SPMC as viable long term for anything other than streaming. It just does not have the playback ability in Android presently to get anywhere near non Android media players IMO. The NMT playback is head and shoulders above the OH but as always there are always those that think the grass it always greener and wont consider anything other than using XBMC/SPMB/Kodi or whatever its name is today.

RE: 20141231 (1.0.10) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Maybe its a feature and not a bug .... but I can not get out a "Full Res" 3D Image out the native Video player. I try to play native 3D iso (in 2x FullHD), but my TV + Projector shows only "Side-by-Side" in Full HD for both left and right

Just to Clarify, the native Player does not give out 3D as two FullHD images, but as one FullHD images with a compressed "Left and Right" image.

No way to set it to native 3D playback with Full 3D Res ?

OK, Sorry i had the impression that this was an official site.

Quote: All 4K has been with the native player.

that doesn't work over the network. Oh, Sorry, that is also not mentioned on the official site

...on the front of the package and that suggested, XBMC is proper running on the device and it is also part of the delivery conditions.

on the back of the package: "XBMC vorinstalliert" (XBMC already installed) and this makes no sense with an XBMC wich isn't running proper. And also XBMC is part of the thing i have purchased and nothing that was additional installed by me.

And thats the problem with Open Hour Chameleon, it has never been XBMC ready, even with
Firmware 1.0.10 and SPMC 13.4.0 it's not good enough to be XBMC Media Center Ready.

But for some reason they still want people to think it is, and sells them as XBMC ready, but
money is more important than the customers it seems.

But with this they will only loose money, the name Cloud Media is getting a bad rap, so people
will avoid product with the name Cloud Media.

Why not use SPMC v14 beta 2 based on Kodi?
People using old SPMC's will have issues.
