RE: Firmware Update News
my wife get hit by the "withe nois bug", i forget to disable Passthrough, and was like super mad Tongue

so the OHC ended up back in the box...and is replaced by a Chromebox (cost 20 buks more than the OHC) I put Openelec on it and all is fine compared to the OHC its like 100 times faster

it pretty sad that updates take that long, I dont blame CM or RK, but it kinda sucks.
and when i read this
Quote:our team will do their best to release a Beta firmware with HD Audio support by April
its even more sad, im just guessing here but they will fix HD Audio for kitKat now and than starting on lollipop?
So we see a working Lollipop FW in q4 2015 Huh

You mean that some Programmers took a look at the APIs we have from Rockstar and program it themself? As much as I like the work some People do for free, that would have been a hail mary.

No that we get a working version of Linux for the OHC and can install OpenElec/Kodi on that is what would be ideal with a dual boot into Android available as well.

RE: Firmware Update News
Well, I still get the disco stutter once in awhile, and white noise if I try to use passthrough, so I just ordered a Chromebox M004U for the same price as I paid for the OH. I will put OpenELEC with Kodi 14 Helix on it. I already have an air mouse, I saw a Youtube of the process and it is quite simple, and it cold boots in about 5 seconds flat.... amazing. Don't know if I will do duel boot as I don't have a use for the Chrome OS. I will keep the OH and wait to see how it develops but I really need a fully working HD player.

I understand you, last firmware has been updated 2 months ago, while it still needs some fixing.
To be honest if someone of the developers could at least assure us that it s going to be fixed, no matter what, that would allready be nice. (and I don t care if he was from CM or RC)
Hope the Chromebox works out

RE: Firmware Update News
I'm pretty much done with the OH and with CM. I've had this box roughly six months and other than testing it has served no more purpose than a paperweight. I mean this thing will be obsolete if and when they ever get it working correctly. Even if you throw out ever getting HD audio working it just isn't reliable enough for prime time. Yes every media player has issues but, this one is far and away more prone to not get you through the movie than most players and I've had them all. Like other's I've moved on to the Chromebox M004U (Openelec and Plex) and even my wife likes it. Not perfect but, close. My problem with CM is that I've owned the A400, A410, OH and StackBox (released way too early even for a Kickstarter project) and with the exception of the A410 all have been failures IMO. I'll be hard pressed to ever spend another dime on any of their products. Again, this is just my opinion.

I hope so to, from everything I have read the M004U with either Ubuntu or OpenELEC in either stand alone or duel boot works pretty much perfect for a media player. There is a EZ Install Script on the Kodi forum that makes the install a one click affair http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=194362 so it will be painless (I hope)

Absolutely agree. I'm far happier with NUC without the al-mighty white noise and constant humiliation from the mod.

Thanks for the Info, seems they are still working on it.

stevenc, I don t want to throw stones...but you buyed a product after you had 2 Products from the same Company that didn t deliver what was promised?
People like you make it worth not finishing a product.

I knew the OHC wouldn t work perfectly when I buy it, but I think and hope in the end it will. If not, lesson learned...it s that easy.

Looks great, but I see it is KitKat not Lollypop, no mater if it works, now if we can just get a usable version of this...

RE: Firmware Update News
Does this mean, we need a new KODI/SPMC with the options DTS-HD and so, otherwise it will work only in the internal Player?
