Yes that is the one!

This version worked perfect for me, in this new version from this topic I cannot get in anyway 5.1 to work.

And on another note this forum and not being allowed to post urls is getting pretty irritating, even if you do certain word combinations it cries about this while there is no url.

Your post has 1 URLs, which are more than allowed 0 URLs in one post. You must have minimum 10 posts to remove this limit.

yes this is really annoying. you can't even post the firmware version with dots.

but i have a little good news. i got 2160p60 working. tried today a shorter hdmi 2.0 cable (1m) and now i got a signal and can set 2160p60. with the 2m hdmi 2.0 cable i got no singal. but it works without any issues on my zotac zbox ci520. so the OHC is very sensitive with 2160p60 and hdmi uhd color. also spmc recognize now 3840x2160 60hz. but framerate sync is NOT working with 4k resolution! its not a xbmc bug. with my zbox, framerate sync works perfect with 2160p resolution.

with 1080p60 resolution framerate sync works!

RE: 20141119 (1.0.7) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Seems the old beta version does not work on the new 1 0.7 now it gives only black screen but with 5.1 audio.
Had to go back to the 1 0.6 beta image and there it works perfect everything.

I really start to feel it was a mistake this box it is a huge mess with your releases, I not really understand how you can sell a product and claim it is xbmc ready when all the versions you provide are still betas and judging by the forum are having allot of issues for people.

And yes for all the wise people for some it works apparently fine then it makes me question the kind of hardware in those devices it must mean there is some differences with the boxes out there.

hummmm... I didn't tried to watch a full movie, I will try later but if that is happening to everyone is just like u are saying... 2 steps forward and 1 step back...

Good device on paper, bad software product-killer..

Why not explain what is the problems that u are facing?

Did you updated the device por the last version (107)?
did you updated the SPMC?

I know the frustration, because I have that frustration to, in plain 2014 with all the competitors out there how can some one like Popcorn now CloudMedia launch something like this to the costumers (pay to be a beta tester? have to come here and share problems to someone solve it?).
I only bought this because i'm a old costumer (Popcorn A-110), but if the quality of the product and the quality provided to the costumer doesn't change they will lose / continue to lose costumers.

I had popcorn hour prodcuts too : C200, then C300. Video and Audio quality were very very good, but the software was unstable, and I needed to reboot it every day... I migrated to XBMC Kodi on my x86 computer (PSU 800W... arrg my planet...), and now wanted to have a small device "again".
"Cloud Media?? Open Hour??? What a nice and perfect designed device... Perfect, I'd loved my popcorns, Open Hour Chameleon will be good too... arg it was a mistake..."

First run on 105 firmware, and really disappointed!!
Then I saw than a beta firmware in v106 could be downloaded, GREAAAT !! I installed it (OTA, test, reset from factory, test), and really disappointed too. And now, I see v107, test it and really disappointed another time.
XBMC, Kodi, Kodi for RK3288, SPMC... all tested... I don't want a fork, I want Kodi..... and quality...

My problems ?? non-exhaustive list :
- no bistream (a shame to sell a product saying it works, but not...)
- DTS making an horrible noize (don't know the english term)
- lagging/stuttering videos (a shame too...)
- VC-1 video worst than other video
- try little videos, same stuttering effect
- Don't know if 24p mode is a real one, because framerate is not stable (24,10, then 23,98, it change while the video is playing)
- Android int├ęgration isn't as good that it seems to be, it is maybe because of Rockchip and the RK3288... My french netflix-like apps doesn't work (MyCanal, Numericable, etc..)
- No easy way integration to screencast or cast an online video, because XBMC/Kodi/SPMC isn't perfect as on x86 system. For example, I tought that I could install google cast receiver app, but I can't... Maybe Cloud Media could do a topic about that for non-geek costumers..

Please fix this audio and video problems... PRIORITY 1 !!

Alright my problems:
- SPMC: Unable to play any kind of audio except for 2.0. anything 5.1 makes weird noises.
- SPMC: Can no longer fast forward in the movie it instantly crashes.
- SPMC: Also noticed that the plugins to find the movie content not works correctly you have to specify "content" sperate for all movies and then it find it.
- Google play crashes randomly and requires a reset in setting to start again.

Small question to anyone that knows, why it rockchip not simply providing their code to Kodi team instead of spmc? does kodi eventually will take the rockchip stuff into their release? (not sure how this works)

RE: 20141119 (1.0.7) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I am also very disappointed

When I was at least on the idea that everything worked 100%
I still do not have the 4K...
In the videos I saw worked well with XBMC or KODI, and play some files in 4K, now I see that most movies 720 and 1080 not play Sad
When I bought was sure everything was working right, but after all is not so.
Now that I have my, only problems
I want to help, but at this point I went back to have my raspberryPI working smoothly.

I'm seriously thinking of selling, even losing money.

Devices:
TV: Samsung UE55ES8000 ; Media: Open Hour Chameleon, RaspBerryPI, PopCorn A210.

This is my repossitory for KODI / SPMC

Firmware 1.0.27beta / SPMC 14.2
the best for me

@juju67
you think a freshly launched player on a new chipset will be trouble free in the first 3 months...... and should be 'non geek' ready.... are you for real?

If you want Kodi. go to the Kodi forum and ask why they don't support the android ARM/Mali and leave it all to one brilliant guy from Belgium who runs a fork.. for free and redirecting all donations to kodi.

Yes, the success of your open system depend entirely on the goodwill and effort of a few people.. and all you do is piss on them.
Try working with people and testing step by step to get your setup in order.

Just know there are many users who get a lot more out of their openhour just because they have a different attitude.

peace.

there is a development team where each individual is a free to pick up or ignore new hardware options for running kodi.
Developer koying is one of the few working with Rockchip.

RE: 20141119 (1.0.7) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
once again i'm very disappointed too but please do not say movies are stuttering. there are so much differences.

just some advises to help the developer or helper in this forum to give feedback:
- tell your specs and configuration. for example in your signature (the allways should up to date)
- problems should be described as good as possible. for example if movies stuttering: which codec (h264,h265), which container (mkv etc.), local via usb or over network (nfs, smb), where (xbmc, spmc or ohc gui mediaplayer)

(11-22-2014 12:11 PM)Brain_Killer Wrote:  Just found a new issue.

On the other day I just made some tests playing videos and some configurations, and turned of the device. The tests was using an USB Disk connected directly to OHC.

I leaved the USB Disk Connected to OHC and just turned of the device (Remote Control). Today I turned On the device, I saw the usb icon there, I open the SPMC its shows the name of the USB connection, I click on it and no content is shown.
Went to the advanced setting of OPH and looking to the USB drives nothing is shown there. Shutting down the OHC and turn it On with the remote the problem continues. Removing the USB Disk the icon of the usb connection continues there, reconnection the USB nothing happens.

The solution found was Turn off OHC from Power and Turn it back again.

Anyone facing the same?

RE: 20141119 (1.0.7) - Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Better than I expected.

I can play any file through the default player and it has 5.1 audio now.

Also, 3D .iso file over SMB share actually works surprisingly well.

I can find a way to turn off subtitles though.

In the options menu there is a subtitle setting but it just goes through all the options. No way to turn it off.

Also no option to turn 3D off, but I can control that on my TV.
