Card speed bottleneck in device?
One interesting point is that I purchased a 90MB/s Lexmark 32GB microSD card which on its packaging clearly stated that 90MB/s was only achievable via the USB3 reader to a PC. The card itself operating around 20MB/s max in the device its installed. It didn't distinguish between which device though.

So we could have a bottleneck potentially in the player what speed that it would be useful. 20MB/s is better than standard class10 so purchasing premium cards up to the bottleneck would appear to be worth it. I doubt that the Lexmark packaging was tested with a RK3288 device and as its the most powerful yet it may be higher.

Testing is what we need with a variety of top speed cards in the device in the differing roles. I haven't moved from the 8Gb installed SD card to the Lexmark yet.

RE: Card speed bottleneck in device?
Card supplied with OH came out at 38mb read 6.38 write.

sent away for 95mb read 40 write. Will test on A1 SD bench when it arrives.

Y'know, I think, I think that a week from now, you'll be less in the mood for being amusing.

[Image: Screenshot_2014-11-23-21-35-32_zpsef68f686.png]
Read 232MB/s Write 6MB/s!!

Think I'll try a different APP to verify.

RE: Card speed bottleneck in device?
Lexar Professional 32GB Class 10 UHS-I 600x Speed 90MB/s SDHC Memory Card.

After changing settings in A1 bench for this card to UHS-I as it would not run read rates at all on default setting.

Quick test
Read speed 586.03 mbs
Write speed 9.15 mbs

Changing setting to class 10
Quick test
Read 632.13mbs
Write 8.2mbs

Default setting gave a write speed of 12.03mbs but could not perform write test.

Confused dot com ?

Y'know, I think, I think that a week from now, you'll be less in the mood for being amusing.

RE: Card speed bottleneck in device?
Does SD-Card speed test Apps do not work, you have to see a difference in booting up your Open Hour Chameleon,
and staring up Apps and Big games and such, all does SD-Card speed test Apps do not work.

You CANNOT get Read 612MB/s with a SD-Card, and you also cannot get higher MB/s then what you read on the
package of the SD-Card.

I will get my Transcend 64GB Ultimate SDXC UHS-I Class 3 tomorrow, and that one can do Read 95MB/s and Write 60MB/s.

And the most important is Read, because of how fast your Open Hour Chameleon will boot and starts Apps and such,
same as a SSD in a Desktop or Laptop.

RE: Card speed bottleneck in device?
So got my Transcend 64GB Ultimate SDXC UHS-I Class 3 and the Open Hour Chameleon SD-Card slots (both),
are VERY slow, i only get from copy to and from a USB Hard Drive:

Write (to SD from USB): 10MB/s MAX :-(

Read (Copy from SD to USB): 16MB/s MAX :-(

I used a 1,5GB Xvid file.

Wow that are some slow speeds, how can such a fast Device get such a bad (slow) Media card readers?

The best App to check Read and Write speeds is ES File Explorer.

So people do not buy UHS-I Class 3, and only buy High Speed Class 10 SD-Cards.

Don't waste your money on faster SD-Cards.

RE: Card speed bottleneck in device?
Yep I think that's the conclusion I've come to aswell. A good class10 card is all that's needed rather than a top of the line card.

On the NMT its also a similar story and was due to limits on the chip I/O bus plus a free NTFS driver if that format was used.
