RE: Lubuntu running on Chameleon
No problem thats the beauty of everything being on sd you can play around with differing versions with no worry about bricking the player.

There's more developers on that forum.

RE: Lubuntu running on Chameleon
Just curious: Is there any acitivty (CM or community) in developing alternative OS beyond that Lubuntu for demonstration purposes? If I remember correctly CM initially advertised also Chrome OS.

RE: Lubuntu running on Chameleon
have not spotted any user development on Chameleon, but do checkout Freaktab for lubuntu and RK3288

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
10 NTFS 2TB USB drives on 3 hubs attached to a A400, 2 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central NAS 4TB.

RE: Lubuntu running on Chameleon
I'm using the lubuntu image to run an emby server on the OHC.
works great! also some 720p mkv are transcoded.

now I want to save some load - how can I disable the x server?

have you tried installing Chrome via the appstore?

Chrome was working.. but cant get kodi to work, and acceleration is shit on this version... all streaming video is choppy.. so.. guess its time to find the garbage bin for the camelion and go for a traditional PC..

To bad as i think the form factor and design is beautiful

on second thought.. did You mean on the android image? then yes... my local tvnetwork do not support streaming over chrome on android platform... need a standalone app, and i cant deal with it... i need it to work in my browser...

You're a bit late...
That was foreseeable, after the chinese new year hollidays in 2015 the promised Lollipop update did not come. If they don't support the main OS, so they don't support the side-OS.
