OHC not stable - best firmware version?
man this place is a ghosttown now....

I dragged my OHC out after giving up on it previously to use it on a small tv with less serious requirements. Anyone have any feedback on which firmware version seems to the be most stable? I gave up on the OHC after the 1.0.41 firmware as it would crash and hang required a reboot for no reason at all. I uninstalled Kodi and installed SPMC thinking that would be better, but alas not.

So my next theory is that the firmware/hardware is problematic.
Any suggestions on which one to try next?

RE: OHC not stable - best firmware version?
write a fresh sd-card with:
1.0.10 (was the best for me)
or maybe with
1.0.13

1.0.40 has been the best for me (1.0.41 showed a bunch of new issues, and I could not use it).

RE: OHC not stable - best firmware version?
That 2 pieces of advice that in combination will yield the best result.
First use fresh SD card class 10 from a reputable brand and use 1.0.40 with SPMC if you do multichannel audio.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
10 NTFS 2TB USB drives on 3 hubs attached to a A400, 2 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central NAS 4TB.

RE: OHC not stable - best firmware version?
thanks for the tips guys. I formatted my sd card and installed 1.0.13 along with SPMC on a sandisc class 10.
seems to be ok so far, not sure if its because of the new sd card, the new install or SPMC instead of Kodi, so we'll see in time

Just a note to say that 1.0.10 seems the best for me so far too.
Any other verions I ran would freeze if I left the device on for long periods of time (ie, used it one day, left it on, came back the next and I would need to do a hard reset). but version 10 doesn't seem to do this. I'll update if I encounter other problems, but thanks for this tip Smile
