Is it dead?
Sold my Openhour Chameleon then found out it wouldnt boot.

literally no video output when the white LED is on at the front.

tried updating the SD card, made no difference

Anything else I can try or is it dead?

RE: Is it dead?
1 plug it in the display you've last seen it working OK uses the same HDMI cable.
2 swap the power supply must be same VA and plug + - polarity

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Had a similar experience with mine, nothing people suggested could bring it back to life, so there is a large chance that yours is also dead.

But try all the suggestions as YMMV.

RE: Is it dead?
I've had the same issue for a week ago.

I watched a movie, paused it, and after trying to play back again it stalled and didn't do anything.
No visible screen, nothing.
Tried to boot after that, but also nothing. Totally dead. I thought.

I've tried to reinstall the image on the SD card, which should have been succeeded (as Win32Diskmanager told me)
But still no booting, no startup screens.

Finally I took another SD card, burned a fresh image on it, et voilá, it worked again.
Seems like the SD-card was damaged.

Could the heat be the cullprit for this? I always leave the OH on.
I have to admit that my OH is mounted at the back bottom of my plasma tv. So, plenty of heat.

RE: Is it dead?
Any device that doesn't have a fan needs air circulation for the radiating heat to dissipate.

SD cards are notorious for fakes even if bought from reputable suppliers. Always test a SD card to make sure it's 100% i use my PC with a Kingston USB3 reader and speed test as fakes usually replace lower speed storage but they can be factory rejects reworked etc. Good thing they're cheaper than ever nowadays.
