Yes we need this option Because There Is a real demand on this topic
We are fortunate that Open Hour can boot with other cards.
This is a good thing Wink

No. You would have to reflash the device everytime you switched.

RE: Netflix Support
Hey

Im having trouble with Netflix not streaming in 5.1 surround. Anyone know if it's at all possible for Netflix to stream surround using the chameleon box?

That being said I'm also having trouble getting surround when streaming from my NAS.

/Micki

RE: Netflix Support
Does the stream they send to android devices even contain a 5.1 surround audio?
I think they assume SD video with 2 channel audio for mobile devices.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

RE: Netflix Support
Yep I got a similar reply from Netflix - the box needes to be cleared by Google as a Netflix HD box before they will allow HD and DTS to be streamed to it.

I have no idea how to get google to do that Undecided - so I guess no good netflixing for us in a while Sad

RE: Netflix Support
Unfortunately its not as simple as just applying its the restrictions that they require your player to be put under. See the previous page from post 39 onwards:
http://forum.openhourlab.com/showthread....=12&page=3

Good news though is that XBMC/SPMC have their won ways of accessing streams on the internet. Read about ones like Gennesis and other Addons for it. Google those and you'll find a new free service.

RE: Netflix Support
Hi,

I have a rooted Nexus 6 running android 5.0. Google says the N6 and N9 do not officially support miracast (I'm assuming this is an attempt to force Chromecast use). I was able to modify the build .prop to enbable miracast using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. While this works perfectly for everything, Netflix will only mirror a black screen with audio. I'm assuming this may be a DRM/HDCP issue. Or possibly Silverlight.

Any thoughts on a fix?

Thanks

RE: Netflix Support
Hi,

would it be possible to use the OHC in some way like a Chromecast (e.g. via miracast) to stream Netflix from a phone? Or is this idea totally absurd?

Thanks.

It will look and work worse than installing Netflix on the chameleon itself..

Why would that be? Streaming Netflix from phone to Chromecast works great (HD).

RE: Netflix Support
I thought Chromecast also took the stream directly from Netflix?
And as to your question why a direct cable will work better than sending the video stream twice over WiFi and being rendered by your phone instead of the Chameleon MaliT768 GPU...... it's just a guess.Big Grin

RE: Netflix Support
Just bought OH chameleon yesterday. The main reason I bought it is to netflixing and watch downloaded movies from my hard drive. I was very disappointed after seeing the pixelated videos from Netflix. Has this issue been solved yet? If not I probably will return it and back to using ps3 for watching netflix.
