OHC remote issues
Hello.

I just received my OHC and I'm having some issues with this remote. As soon as I insert the batteries, the learning light comes on and doesn't' stop. It seems to be interfering with my other remotes, so using it quite frustrating.

I was able to attach a wireless keyboard, so I have some basic navigation. But I want to be able to use a remote when I'm watching videos.

Is my remote faulty? Or is this the normal behavior? How do you exit learning mode if you don't want to learn any devices?

RE: OHC remote issues
I tried changing both the batteries and pressing every key. I guess I'm going to try reseating the case next.

RE: OHC remote issues
Did you read the link?

You said you'd pressed the learning link so '1. Press and hold the RED key in the TV learning zone for 5 seconds until the LED light stops blinking and turns solid.'.

TV Learning Zone

1. Press and hold the RED key in the TV learning zone for 5 seconds until the LED light stops blinking and turns solid.

2. Press any key within the learning zone that you would like to map.

3. While the LED light is blinking, point the TV remote IR directly at the IR window located on top of the Chameleon remote (IR-to-IR), and press the TV remote key you would like to map.

4. Once the key is mapped, the LED will stop blinking.

5. Press the OK button on the Chameleon remote to confirm.

6. Repeat the process above to map the other keys. You can map up to a total of 5 keys in the learning zone.

The Gecko uses the same ir codes you dont have one?

RE: OHC remote issues
It seems the remote is broken. There is a key stuck that I cannot find. I did not press any keys, the 'learning' mode just started when I inserted the batteries.

I'm going to contact support for a replacement remote.

I will use the android phone app for now until I get a replacement remote.
Thanks

RE: OHC remote issues
Sure it's not stuck in learning mode and pressing and holding for five seconds clears it?

Support may have other ways of clearing it? They'll make you repeat what you've tried just keep your cool and thy'll usually ship without waiting on items like a remote.

Could be just the thing you need to convince the Mrs you need a Harmony:

Sorry to hear about it we've not seen anyone else which is why a stuck key or stuck in learning mode seems possible.

RE: OHC remote issues
Chris.

I tried that as well. Thank you for the suggestions. I have tons of remotes over the years, this is the first one that has misbehaved on day one Smile I didn't get to even spill Pepsi on it yet, sheesh Smile

The Harmony Companion does look interesting.
