RE: Kodi 16 support
Yes it's possible and no it's not a good idea.
Better wait for Openhour to come with their customized release.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

10 NTFS 2TB USB drives on 3 hubs attached to a A400, 2 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central NAS 4TB.

RE: Kodi 16 support
Hi. Isn't it Rockchip which patches Kodi to provide support for its chipset, not open hour ?

RE: Kodi 16 support
Remember not all RockChip patched Kodi releases were accepted by Openhour.
We get our releases for Openhour not RockChip..... but in theory they could come from anywhere as it's Open.

Asda price. They always have a roll back ;o)

I've been using latest openelec kodi with EGL and other intel cpu based image PQ enhancements. Must say the new kodi GUI looks really nice. Check it out.

RE: Kodi 16 support
Actually the Chameleon is running well now with Kodi and HD audio.
I'm running Kodi 16 on another device with the same theme and can't find any exciting changes.
If you still have the OHC you should give it a try next to your Intel setup.

RE: Kodi 16 support
What's this openElec stuff for 17 for?

There was far more exciting news/post from someone else that the Rockchip codec was going in kodi 17. Anyone got anything for out platform is rk3288 with a kodi17 with rkcodec?

OHC > HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using standard Kodi(MC) 15.2 no hware/acc OK
Downmix stereo 1.0.40/RK Kodi(RKlib) 15.2 infrequent audio gaps hware/acc OK

No DTS downmix available for inbuilt eMC player

Gecko> HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using Gecko Kodi 15.0 OK
Downmix using inbuilt MediaCentre OK

RE: Kodi 16 support
Hi Chris. Openelec is a Kodi based Linux branch as you know and it was just to highlight new user interface in kodi 17.

We all wait for Rockchip and open hour. Running lollipop/marshmallow/N, windows 10 or Linux on the RK3288.

Meanwhile customers drift away.

What can I say. I'm just sticking around to see if spending over £150 finally was worth it ?

From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend reading it.
