Which means that MediaCocded and RockshipCodec should be enabled, right?

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I'm watching mainly mkv files with kodi. 1080P with hd sound.

I'm experiencing in about every movie that frames are dropped and audio and video get out of sync for about 20 sec.
Mostly it happens only 1 time per movie. When is random.

2nd problem is frame dropping when you see pan tilts.

Nobody else having these problems?

kind regards

could you post the MediaInfo debug data of one 4K movie and a BD remux with high bitrates. https://mediaarea.net/
Where are these file played from and is the problem gone if they are played from local micro SD or USB drive?

Just al little question: It is a while, we did not get any updates any more. Is the developing still ongoing? Are there any news at the horizon?

It is safe to assume all development has finished and there will be no updates.

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
At least with the last version the device is usable. A full of bugs outdated beta but...usable. What was not the case the first year after it was released.

I hope the software will allow me to play most files for 1 more year.

But I'll be happy the day I throw it away.

What is 100% sure is that cloud media (or however they renamed their company meanwhile) will not receive any further cent from me.

Nowadays, for 90% of the people interested in such devices, all they basically need is a raspberry pi and that's it. 1080p is more than enough. The only thing holding me is this damn toslink, my amp doesn't support HDMI input :/

Sad story this OHC, like a school case of what a company should never do.

Cloudmedia is doing very well with non-Kodi or Android media players... the chameleon and gecko were an excursion into android and Kodi to see if there is any benefit there....
I think they rightly learned that the combination of android and Kodi is still a gamble if picture and audio quality is your number one priority while on the networkmediatanks they build there is noting better in that price range.

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
In my view if they started a project they should take to the end

Because in my case the "chameleon" was very expensive
And we have almost no support at all.

I think they should do one last summer where they include the version of KODI working correctly

Devices:
TV: Samsung UE55ES8000 ; Media: Open Hour Chameleon, RaspBerryPI, PopCorn A210.

This is my repossitory for KODI / SPMC
http://reponickjack.zz.mu/rp

Firmware 1.0.27beta / SPMC 14.2
the best for me

It's safe to assume the Chameleon was also very expensive for Cloudmedia....
It's also safe to assume that their Kodi/android staff have moved on..

Sorry for the late reply Wink

You may be right Willem, but how is that something we, as final users, should care about ?

What is or is not expensive for Cloudmedia is not my business. I'm the final customer and it's fair to say that Cloudmedia sold me an unfinished product.

I paid something like 150euros for this piece of **** ! And all I got left are my eyes to cry !

I can tell you one thing for sure : Cloudmedia is very lucky that they don't have one of their customers being a lawyer or more simply someone who has money to spend in a justice action. I mean that if I was lawyer or had enough money to spend on that, I would have seriously considerate the option to open an international prosecution against Cloudmedia.

The very least Cloudmedia could have done would have been to open a refunding procedure in order to allow all customers to get their money back.

Anybody is allowed to do mistakes in life. But the very least you can do in such a situation is trying to correct your mistake by refunding.

Why do final customers have to take part of the financial responsibility of this failure on their shoulders ?

What happens is that people like me, having paid this product, are taking the responsibility.

That's is the only, final and sad truth.
