they have the PT audio settings official in KODI 17 or innofficial in Koyings KODI 16. But they use the google API for that. As long, as RK isn't using the proper way (using googles SDKs) to implement passthrough we have to use RKs own build.

Works pretty good for me too now, been able to watch a whole movie with only occasional stuttering and delays. If nothing is going on in the background it seems to work, if i try to watch something while updating my library the static and sound drops are back. A nice step in the right direction..

Did you read the notes re lipsync and other settings?

I'm using downmix and not seeing sync issues on any formats yet using Kodi.

Hi chris57,

Yes, I burned the new firmware directly to the factory SD card, this time successfully (previously downloaded the wrong ZIP file by mistake).

As for the lipsync settings, I assume you mean those mentioned in this thread?...

Last time I remember checking downmix wasn't enabled, though I could be wrong given Kodi audio is set to 2.0. Best Match, High quality re-sampling, hence any 5.1/7.1 sound source would be downmixed.

Thanks.

Transcode AC3 = on?

I also have not been able to get 3D ISO's to play correctly... I hope that it is fixed soon.

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Works fine on a 4k display, more exactly LG 55 UF8507. During the playback the display sets 2160p 24hz; when navigating in kodi it sets to 2160p 60Hz. I played all king of files from bd iso`s to mkv , 4k demo, etc ... it`s working fine. Great job ! The only problem I had is with 3d movies (sbs), the image it`s ok but the subtitle it`s stretched on the right and left of the screen (it worked fine on previous firmware).

I've turned addon and libary updates to Never.

I'm wondering if the OH rk kodi instruction re keeping audio alive or whatever the setting are called would help. There was also some other audio setting in an earlier thread put forward to try.

OHC > HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using standard Kodi(MC) 15.2 no hware/acc OK
Downmix stereo 1.0.40/RK Kodi(RKlib) 15.2 infrequent audio gaps hware/acc OK

No DTS downmix available for inbuilt eMC player

Gecko> HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using Gecko Kodi 15.0 OK
Downmix using inbuilt MediaCentre OK

Č & Ć (croatian) letters support in subtitles on internal video player would be great. Thanks

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I have the same problem than tapps. When the spdif is selected. No Dolby sound, but DTS works.
I have the Sony STR-DB930. And I never had any problem with this av receiver, I already used with many dvd players and many pcs (windows and linux), with Xine and Kodi programs and always worked.

The configuration is:
Enable passthrough = on
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver = on
- Enable Dolby Digital transcoding = on
DTS capable receiver = on

RE: 20160121 (1.0.40) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Pretty good, smooth playback, and most video has passthrough audio.

Although, m2ts files have no sound at all, including channelCheck.m2ts.

I can get static (rarely), when seeking or similar. Restarting video fixes things.

Changing framerate to video did not work too well for me, 23.xxx goes static.

Encouraging step forward though.
