Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
Hi there. The most annoying bug of the Gecko is imho the resume bug: when I stop a movie and play it again, Kodi does not give me the option to resume where I left. When I stop the movie again and play again, Kodi asks if I want to resume where I left the first time!
The second most annoying bug is the horrible performance of the Kodi menu while playing a movie, but that has already been mentioned in a post I think.
The third bug is that Kodi often crashes, I think that has also been mentioned already.
Is there any sight to when these bugs will be fixed?

RE: Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
Are you using the mediacentre player for Kodi playback? I ask as I can confirm that lack of resume when using SMB mountpoints in Kodi.

I don't see Kodi crashes and I've been using the Gecko daily for around 2 weeks.

Finally do you want to grab logs etc. as you would have to report on Kodi when it crashes? I get that it's happening on the Gecko Kodi version just asking for you to do what you would if using Kodi on any other platform. Post it and see what people make of it at the crash timestamp.

OHC > HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using standard Kodi(MC) 15.2 no hware/acc OK
Downmix stereo 1.0.40/RK Kodi(RKlib) 15.2 infrequent audio gaps hware/acc OK

No DTS downmix available for inbuilt eMC player

Gecko> HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using Gecko Kodi 15.0 OK
Downmix using inbuilt MediaCentre OK

RE: Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
What do you mean by "using the mediacentre for Kodi playback?".

How can I get the Kodi logs of the Gecko?

Also a new bug which forces me to not use the Gecko anymore: when I watch a movie, the audio and video keep running more and more out of sync as the movie progresses.

All in all the Gecko is a pretty useless device so far, I have attached my good old PCH A110 again.

RE: Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
you might benefit from learning how to setup and configure your Gecko and Kodi... it all changed a bit after A110 and its file browser..
I can assure you that there is nothing that a A110 does better than a Gecko.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

RE: Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
Can you tell me where I can find some pointers for the right settings/configuration? In my opinion the Gecko and Kodi should work correctly out-of-the-box. Asynchronisation of audio should never happen, despite any settings. Maybe my device is faulty?

RE: Resume bug (and others) in Kodi
They are settings and in my opinion users should configure their Gecko and Kodi based on their other hardware like Displays and AVR's.
For Gecko read forum and WiKi, for Kodi go to kodi.tv and read forum and WiKi, for display and AVR read manuals and support website of these devices.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.
