RE: 20151023 (1.0.33) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I'm unable to get sound - SPDIF output from coax, even in stereo. I was able to get HDMI sound or default sound if I used Stereo. I used the built in player to test the videos since Kodi did install but would crash as soon as I went to play a video. I used the recommended settings for Kodi in the post. I did get the message that I was using RC when full version was available.

I think I am running an older version on the original 8G card, it says no updates available through system so it must be the latest but there are no issues with the sound, SPDIF coax no problem. DTS, DTS-MA, Dolby 5.1, even 7.1 have been n o problem as is (with regular Kodi) but there are some spots where it's apparent it's working on slim free space and could benefit from the optimizations of the custom Kodi.

I was able to put the beta and the previous stable release onto a 64g card and the partition-less image. I got the full capacity of the card available but no sound! I also went back to the previous stable release, also with no sound to the coax. Is there a way to extract the image of the 8G card without being restricted to the 8G partition? I am going to try going back various releases installing to the 64G card until I can get one that works because I like coax... and my opticals are full, but primarily it's the space that is really an issue but having 64G of space means nothing without sound Big Grin

So this answers my question on DTS
I am going to go back and look at my settings but I believe on my existing version which is doing surround is set to pass-through. Plus my somewhat old HarmonKardon receiver picks it up as appropriate DTS / Dolby depending

RE: 20151023 (1.0.33) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
Hello, please can anybody confirm 4K@60 is working fine on this beta firmware ?

I am having trouble using a new HDMI box from HDfury called Integral, which supposed to convert 4K60 4:4:4 to 4K60 4:2:0, which my projector can accept. OHC is only allowing 4K30 as the maximum refresh rate.

If I go on the OHC screen settings, there is no 4K60 option showing (only 4K30), even thought the Integral box is supposed to be sending an EDID of 4K60 4:4:4 for OHC to accept.

I have no idea if it supports, but from your post I would say it does not support 60fps 4k.

Doesn't matter what you sending. If it doesn't support, it will not show it up.
A good example just come to my mind Big Grin

You are a cyclist who can ride up to 55 KPH, on bicycle with gear ratio 54-12.
But rite now, you have bicycle which has gear ratio of 36-14.
Will the cyclist be able to ride 55 KPH on his 36-14 bicycle? I don't think so Big Grin
You have the "rider" but you don't have the gear.

Thanks for replying ! It does support 4K 60fps indeed - I was able to get it working.

It's interesting how different companies work so differently - Hdfury Support and R&D people were working with me almost realtime on a box that costs nearly the same as OHC (I paid $150). They were genuinily concerned with my problem and were replying nearly real-time on their users forum. That's how I got it to work !

Netflix won't work for me too...
Sometime, the video won't start.
On the previous firmware, video stop with Error 0013

Netflix work perfectly with OpenHour Gecko.

Will be keeping this thread clean of opinions.
This thread is just for reporting on using this specific firmware release.
For anything else create a new thread.

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

The HDMI1.4 output on the Chameleon will never support 4K/60 fps. I can not imagine, why do you use an Android computer with integrated video for a projector Huh
If 4K/60 fps is important for you, you have to find a media player with HDMI2.0, which is a hard job actually (I can not call the Android boxes to media players). But knowing that you need great picture for your big screen, I would suggest a Popcorn Hour VTEN with VXP, and let the Chameleon to the children to play and watch TV-shows.

Open Hour Chameleon = HDMI 2.0
Popcorn Hour VTEN = HDMI 1.4
