No joy in testing further with AVR... I've stopped and will wait for the next release..

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

Since I failed to play MKV 1080p files on Kodi 15.2 beta (audio drop every minutes of watching movie using Yammy RX-A3040): I gave a try to the Androïd embedded video player and the playback is fine (Extant Saison #1 HEVC 1080p) : both video and audio (on AVR) is playing smooth !

Sometimes the reader inside the chameleon loses the connection with my avr.
The audio codes on my receiver is switched on and off and then disappear altogether.

I testing beta firmware 1.0.33 and it is worst than 1.0.22 Dodgy i just usit tv no AV receiver and HD sounds ... and during watching every episode i lost sound for few seconds 2-3 times, before it was just few unsynchronized frames and now it is bigger interruption (it happening on same time in same video), BUT if it will be fixed it will be awesome Smile, no lag in video just sound crap

Check with Chris as he has about the same setup.

You'll see me say just about the same thing here:
http://forum.openhourlab.com/showthread....110&page=3

The tip re the kodi setting here from the poster:
http://forum.openhourlab.com/showthread....110&page=3
Helped reduce it significantly, pause during refresh rate change 0.60secs.

But for stability using downmix I'm on the last firmware before this one, standard Kodi15.2, with only Mediacodec hardware enabled using supplied 8Gb SD card. Daily TV download watcher when setup like this.

I have that for stability and a second SD card to swop out for testing until its right on the OHC. Having both the Gecko and the OHC once the audio is resolved the OHC totally outstrips the Gecko for cpu power. I have to baby the Gecko at times but the OHC I can really push plus it seems to have better success with Kodi addon streaming. Angel

OHC > HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using standard Kodi(MC) 15.2 no hware/acc OK
Downmix stereo 1.0.40/RK Kodi(RKlib) 15.2 infrequent audio gaps hware/acc OK

No DTS downmix available for inbuilt eMC player

Gecko> HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using Gecko Kodi 15.0 OK
Downmix using inbuilt MediaCentre OK

RE: 20151023 (1.0.33) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
I m agree with Chris

I have no AVR.
With the first install FW, all works like a charm.
After some time there are the same bug.

Play with "hardaware acceleration" is like play loto.
All works fine. After a reboot there are always some bug with the same movie.

Play again with "hardaware acceleration" if you are lucky all works well but there is no logic.
The best way at this time is wait a better FW and go back to the fw before

I hope only that Rockship works hard again on all of this .... Confused

Wait and see Angel

Ok this new firmware has so many flaws, back on 1.0.25 witch is much better.
Looking for another media player, this thing has taken enough of my time.

RE: 20151023 (1.0.33) - Beta Open Hour Chameleon Android Firmware
After initial testing, I am quite pleased with this firmware. No audio issues (which was present earlier on my Yamaha RX-V765), better overall performance, seemingly better IO-performance (updating apps without freezing). I haven't done extensive testing with videoplayers or video issues, but no complaints so far.

This is very nice! Smile

There is however, one major caveat in my experience:

The cursor/pointer disappears when trying to navigate apps like YouTube, NetFlix, and HBO.

Has anyone else had that experience?
