Great now could you please tell us how you did that as the topic of this thread is "Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR"

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

Nothing, just connected my HDMI cable from my Open Hour Chameleon to my Onkyo TX-NR609 and a HDMI Cable goes from my
Onkyo TX-NR609 to my TV.

And on the Open Hour Chameleon the audio is set to HDMI Bitstream.

Thats all, and now i have 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS in All the players that came with the Open Hour Chameleon, and MX Player.

And i use a special Kodi and the patch to have 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS in XBMC/Kodi.

OK new baseline... OHC FW 1.0.8 and SPMC 13.4

what settings do you use in android and SPMC to get DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD working in 6 channel mode.

Same as Firmware 1.0.7 and the special Kodi i used.

In Open Hour Chameleon settings i set him to HDMI Bitstream.

Then in SPMC 13.4 i go to Settings/System and set Settings level on Expert, and then go to Audio output and enable Enable Passthrough.

And now you have 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS in all the internal Video players (also MX Player) and SPMC 13.4, and that without the audio patch file (-:

Update: DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD does not work in Firmware 1.0.8 Beta.

But how can a Moderator of the Open Hour Chameleon not know that already???

OK you are becoming annoying now.
It's not about what I do or don't know, but on how others succeed or fail to get it to work and what settings or setup they have within the baseline of FW1.0.8 and SPMC 13.4.

I have made a how to get Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 HDMI in SPMC 13.4.0 (XBMC)
with Firmware 1.0.8 Beta in XBMC Media Centre section, with some screen shots.

I wanted to ask, with a direct connection HDMI OHC / TV you can 'have audio if in what format, or you receive only the video signal..

You cannot hear DTS sound if you do that, then you only see the movie without sound, Dolby Digital i don't know.

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
With a direct connection you are using downmix and getting stereo output from DTS, Dolby etc. when using SPMC. You get audio. Not really a question for this passthrough thread though.

does your AVR support DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD?

If you have the right version of Kodi then you can set DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD to "passthrought to the AVR.

on OHC set HDMI as output on Kodi declare your AVR capabilities.. use the Kodi from OHC latest FW.
