Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
Just got my Chameleon delivered today.
First challenge I face is what player lets me pass through 5.1 audio.
And how to configure xbmc to do the same..
I must be doing something wrong cause my Onkyo is claiming it only gets PCM 2 channel.

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
Normally, XBMC System-Settings-System-Audio Output-Enable Passthrough. Plus DD and DTS capable receiver checked.

Use the Expert Settings level.

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
I'm only getting PCM2.0 showing up also.
I have checked the settings in XBMC and have Bitstream enabled in the sound settings. I have also tried S/PDIF but this makes no difference.
Has anyone managed to get 5.1?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
Ive tried both 13.2 Gotham and the latest Beta versions. Both only ever give me 2.0.
If i use the media player built into andriod i can get 5.1, So this is only an issue with XBMC/KODI.

I also tried SPMC port of XBMC, and wile this version ran extremely fast I still only got 2.0.

Was these settings on the Openhour?, I don't have those settings on the Android release of XBMC/KODI. I can set the channels to 2.0 but the other settings are gone.
No mater what I do I can't get 5.1 to pass thru to the AVR.

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
I can find those settings on xbmc (and I can get 5.1) but not on spmc, which works much better for me also on the tronsmart orion r28. In spmc I have ...
Audio output device....greyed out
Stereo upmix
Normalize levels on down mix
Resample quality
Keep audio device alive
Play gui sounds
Enable passthrough
Passthrough output device..greyed out..set to android, audio track..dont know how to change this
Dolby digital ac3
Enable Dolby digital
Dts capable receiver
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.

Koying just released SPMC 13.4.0 with passthrough support. We will enable that in next firmware that we plan to release by end of this week.

Very strange i have 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS in all the internal players that came with the Open Hour Chameleon.

And also have it with MX Player, and also have it in a special Kodi and the patch i use.

I have a Onkyo TX-NR609.

RE: Howto set audio for passthrough over HDMI to AVR
are you sure it's not LPCM and the Onkyo upgrading 2 channels to 6?

Some focus on problems and faults others on solutions and success... no question who is the happy one.

Chameleon 16GB SD 32GB micro SD <-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
10 NTFS 2TB USB drives on 3 hubs attached to a A400, 2 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central NAS 4TB.
