RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
I've posted it in the Kodi Isenguard section. Make sure you try both kodi/mediacodec and spmb/rklibstagefright. It's working well now with no audio gaps in kodi but usual in spmc for me.

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
Hi Chris57.

I tested Kodi 15.0 Final, shortening / resume Audio extant, OHC connected HDMI Bitstream AVR Pionner sc-LX56.

Tested new revision SPMC 15.0, without changing anything leaving default acceleration of the three parameters, mediacodec, rklibstagefright, libstagefright active, problems start Audio Video and Audio interruptions.

disabled in SPMC 15.0 acceleration mediacodec libstagefright Audio and clean for what little I could see, even with libstagefright and rklibstagefright active, audio clean.
This my feeedback

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
I worried for those using passthrough.

I've tried both SPMC 15 and Kodi 15.

Kodi (Mediacodec) 15 plays great now with no audio gaps and I'm also using autoframerate. SPMC (RKlibstagefright) plays with audio gaps still.

I don't want to run without hardware acceleration if possible.

OHC > HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using standard Kodi(MC) 15.2 no hware/acc OK
Downmix stereo 1.0.40/RK Kodi(RKlib) 15.2 infrequent audio gaps hware/acc OK

No DTS downmix available for inbuilt eMC player

Gecko> HDMI > TV (Panasonic 42G20)
Downmix stereo using Gecko Kodi 15.0 OK
Downmix using inbuilt MediaCentre OK

If you were talking about my final success with no audio gaps using Mediacodec/Kodi15 with no advancedsettings or other .xml files on the original 8GB SD card then yes im on 1.0.27.

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
My first impressions as follow:

1. KODI 15.0 final - audio gap every few seconds for AC3 5.1 in passthrough mode via optical S/PDIF to Yamaha RX-V650. AC3 2.0 sounds good without gap. Video playback more smooth then in SPMC. Looks like HW decoding works better.

2. SPMC 15.0 final - no audio gap for both AC3 2.0 and 5.1 in the same hardware configuration. Video playback not so smooth. Im not sure but looks worse then in SPMC 14.2.

At this moment in my environment SPMC 14.2 is best option. If KODI fix audio problem with multi chanel passthrough over S/PDIF this will be best solution.

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
I haven't tried Kodi 15.0, but the SPMC 15.0 didn't work well on my OHC fw 27. The OHC is connected to my Yamaha RX-1020 and I prefer audio passthrough. The audio was fine, but the video was stuttering. I also believe there must be some memory leakage in the SPMC, because Movie Information and Scan Lib causes the OHC to be slower and slower after some use. I reverted back to SPMC 14.2 with passthrough.

I guess SPMC adds chipset support to the Kodi, but what is really the downside of using Kodi as opposed to SPMC?

Why can't SPMC(Koying) and Kodi team merge sources?

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
I thought they were? Koying stated he was going to work on Mediacodec hardware decoding for Kodi for Android now as he's had enough of Rockchip and the fact that they wont communicate or supply him with code etc.

I've moved to Kodi but cannot get SPMC to work without audio stutter.

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
I've been playing some DVD to MKV TV series rermuxes made with MakeMKV the past couple of weeks on both SPMC 15 and Kodi 15.1 trying all the possible hardware accelerations for each program and for DVD to MKV remuxes, RKlibstagefright produces the best picture. Mediacodec or plain libstagefright produce a softer picture with jagged edges on straight diagonal lines and the credit fonts look blurrier.

Besides the multichannel audio on dropouts (for me) on Kodi 15.1 with passthrough vs. SPMC 15 (passthrough seems to work fine), the picture quality on Kodi with the 2 hardware acceleration options will keep me on SPMC for now.

Hopefully Mediacodec will continue to improve because if Koying ever decides to stop development on SPMC, I'm not sure I could settle for the way some standard def mpeg2 files look with Kodi at the moment. Smile

Are they not allowed to implement RKlibstagefright into Kodi?

RE: SPMC Kodi Isengard 15.0 Final
Hey zak.
Can you give me the settings you are using on kodi 15?
Or maybe a screenshot or something, i am having the same problem.
With kodi v16 the problem stays the same.

Thx

This is an old thread you've resurrected. Install firmware 1.0.40 with Kodi 15.2 first.

If you still struugle supply hardware, settings, connections, etc. etc.
